TMIM: Yellow pages remain an effective advertising avenue

Kuala Lumpur - The Yellow Pages remain a viable, long-term and effective advertising avenue for small and medium sized businesses, TM Info-Media (TMIM) chief executive officer Nasaruddin Mohd Zaini said on Thursday.
TMIM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia, recently launched the 2010 edition of its signature Yellow Pages advertising directory.
"Although Malaysia's overall advertising expenditure (ADEX) has slightly declined and many other alternative advertising mediums have emerged, the Yellow Pages remain a viable, long-term and effective advertising avenue for small and medium sized businesses," Nasaruddin said in a statement.
The release of the 2010 Yellow Pages edition was marked with the distribution of 5,000 copies to customers. A total of 1.5 million copies of the directory will be distributed nationwide.
The 2010 edition of the Yellow Pages comprises advertisers and business listings with many other advantages such as detailed road-maps, transportation guides, a calendar and holiday guides.
The 2010 Yellow Pages will initially be distributed in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur from September 2009 and extended nationwide by November.
