Malaysian children show support for Gaza's kids

Kuala Lumpur - To date more than 2,600 letters, hand-made cards, postcards and drawings written and made by Malaysian children have been received for the "To My Friend in Gaza" project to show solidarity with the unfortunate children of war-ravaged Gaza.
Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, who initiated and launched the project in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Malaysia, said they are now in the process of translating the messages into Arabic before sending them to the children of Gaza.
She told reporters after receiving 2,500 hand-made friendship cards from Cempaka School students here today.
She hoped more young Malaysians would contribute towards the project by showing their warmth and support towards Gaza's children through their messages.
The humanitarian crisis due to Israel's attacks on Gaza is affecting women and children the most and over 800,000 children have been exposed to extraordinary levels of violence and insecurity and more then 300 children have died and some 1,600 injured.
